The Laurel Ridge learning community is committed to providing a high quality educational experience for students. We have a talented and committed staff of professionals who work to nurture and prepare our students for future success. We offer enrichment opportunities to all students and provide targeted interventions to ensure student progress. In addition, we work to help our students discover their responsibility in bettering our world locally and globally. Our dedicated parents and community volunteers are an incredible asset to supporting the learning of our culture at LRMS. Middle school is an important time of transition, and we consider supporting our students through this stage of their journey a privilege.

● School Improvement Goals:
Goal 1: Each content area will be fully prepared to transition to proficiency by 2013-2014.
Goal 2: Students and staff will demonstrate proficiency on a minimum of one NETS-S and one NETS-T, respectively as observed through walkthroughs.
Goal 3: All teachers will consistently practice research-based strategies by the end of the 2012-2013 school year, as called for by the Common Core Standards and as observed through administrator walkthroughs.
Goal 4: Create a positive learning environment that develops character and rewards positive behavior through the use of targeted PRIDE (advisory) lessons and proactive behavior management.
● Other Information:
Laurel Ridge Middle School is in its second year. The building shares a campus with Edy Ridge Elementary School, and it was designed to connect the learning to the natural environment incorporating sustainable design features. Each classroom has a projector and document camera, and many classrooms have SMART Boards. We are a Positive Behavior Supports school (PBS).
