Who Are We?

  • When students realize that math can be fun, their anxiety lessens, and they can more readily open themselves up to learning, even if the concepts/skills have been confusing before.
  • When students who already love math are presented with opportunities to play games with it, their interest is enriched, and their need to do something that makes them happy is satisfied.
  • Math Gamers is a math enrichment program that offers students the chance to have fun and build confidence through the use of games (e.g., board, card, memory, guessing).

Why It Works:

  • Goal of each lesson (game) is matched to a current state math standard appropriate for the grade levels of each program.
  • Reinforcement is given in the skills that our classroom teachers are teaching students every day.

How It Works:

  • Programs designed for 2nd -5th graders and presented in the fun, interactive manner of playing a game.
  • Sessions are 6 weeks, one hour per week. In each class, students learn at least one new game.
  • Maximum number of students per session is 14, so participants get one-on-one guidance, supervision, and help with the games and math concepts/skills addressed.

  • $65.00 per student for 6 week session.
  • Monday April 8 - May 13, 2013
  • 2:20 pm - 3:20 pm
  • Room 7
  • Parents pay Math Gamers directly to have their child participate.
  • A limited amount of scholarships may be available through school PTAs or local businesses.
