Transfers for the 2023-24 School Year

Inter-District Transfers INTO Sherwood:

In March 2023 the Sherwood School Board is allowing the transfer of 160 non-resident students into the Sherwood School District for the 2023-24 school year. Students are admitted through graduation, provided they meet the attendance and behavior requirements of our Inter-District Transfer Agreement.  Transportation will not be provided to students admitted under this Board action.

The slots are allocated as noted below: 

  • Sherwood High School
  • 20 slots at 9th grade
  • 10 Slots at 10th grade
  • 10 Slots at 11th Grade
  • 10 Slots at 12th Grade
  • Sherwood Middle School
  • 10 slots at 6th grade
  • 10 slots at 7th grade
  • 10 slots at 8th grade
  • Elementary School ONLY *Students will be assigned a school  in August based on capacity.
  • 30 slots at Kindergarten
  • 10 slots at 1st grade
  • 10 slots at 2nd grade
  • 10 slots at 3rd grade
  • 10 slots at 4th grade
  • 10 slots at 5th grade

Lottery Process

  • Slots will be allocated initially via lottery, the application window will be open until 4:00 pm on Friday, March 31st; all applications received in the District Office by that time shall be included in the lottery.
  • After the lottery, requests will be approved in the order received and the application window will remain open until slots are filled.

Inter-District Transfers OUT of Sherwood:

UPDATE 7/13/2023: All slots for releases for the 2023-2024 school year have been filled

In March 2023 the Sherwood School Board granted release to 30 students for transfer out of Sherwood for the 2023-24 school year. The slots will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis and will remain open until filled.

In-District Transfers (between Sherwood elementary schools):

The Sherwood School District will accept In-District transfer requests for extenuating, critical and highly unusual needs of individual students. These are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
