Lead Paint Information
  • The Renovation, Repair and Painting Program Rule requires that individuals and firms conducting renovation, repair and painting projects on pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities (child care and schools) be certified to follow lead-safe work practices. For more information on this rule, you can visit the following website: Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

In order to comply with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Program (RRP) Rule, Sherwood School District will utilize district staff that are certified to perform RRP work. The district maintenance department has a designated lead paint specialist who is EPA RRP certified and is responsible for in-house repairs and painting.

In the case of large scale painting or renovation projects involving contractors the district will contract only with RRP certified contractors.

Painted or coated surfaces in work areas impacted by renovation, repair, and painting activities are tested for lead on a case by case basis.
