After serving four years in Sherwood School District as principal of Middleton Elementary School since 2012, Dr. Jeremiah Patterson has accepted the Assistant Superintendent position with Gladstone School District.

“My four years in Sherwood have been, and continue to be, incredibly supportive.  The community supports I’ve experienced are only rivaled by the level of commitment of the Sherwood School District and the Middleton staff.  As I look forward to this next professional challenge, I know I will draw heavily upon my experiences in Sherwood.” Patterson said.

Dr. Patterson was integral in launching the District’s full-day kindergarten program which began this school year.  Additionally, he participated in numerous district-led initiatives including the Strategic Planning and Bond Steering Committees, and represented his elementary principal colleagues on the District Leadership Team and Equity Action Team.

Superintendent Cordie shared, “Dr. Patterson has been an exemplary leader in Sherwood as a role model for his students and a coach and mentor for his staff and fellow administrators.  I am thrilled with his passion to broaden his reach to the District level and I am confident he is prepared.”

The Sherwood School District will keep the community apprised of next steps and will engage stakeholders in the process that will lead to identifying the next principal for Middleton Elementary School.
