After a rigorous search and review of many highly qualified candidates, Amanda Hollenberg has been selected as the new principal of Edy Ridge Elementary School.  Hollenberg joins Sherwood from Albany School District where she served at Memorial Middle School for 11 years.  After first teaching 6th through 8th grades for 6 years, she later transitioned to Dean of Students, and finally, became its Associate Principal in 2012.
Superintendent Heather Cordie said of Hollenberg, “We are so excited to welcome Amanda to our team of administrators in Sherwood.  She is a talented, enthusiastic and committed educator.  Even more important, she is a servant leader who emphasizes the importance of relationships as the foundation for all that we do.  I am confident she will be a great fit for the Edy Ridge community.”

Hollenberg earned her Administrator License at Portland State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Science degree in Education with a Reading Specialist Endorsement, both from Western Oregon University College.  Among her other achievements, she is an active volunteer for non-profit organizations, has served as an athletic coach for K-8 students, and mentors with an at-risk youth program.

“I am extremely honored and excited to be a part of Edy Ridge Elementary.  I look forward to moving ahead with unprecedented education for all students and to building relationships with my colleagues, parents, students, and community members,” said Hollenberg.
