Boundary Adjustment Committee: Parent Applications Now Being Accepted

As you may have read about in the August Sherwood Gazette (attached below), the Sherwood School District is experiencing an imbalance in student enrollment at our elementary and middle schools.  While it is a difficult process, it is our duty to respond as a district and is necessary to ensure continued quality of education for students and class size manageability for our staff.

It is our intent to create and deliver a collaborative, transparent process with timely communications and frequent opportunities for input and comment from all stakeholders. 

We are looking for parents who are interested in serving on a facilitated Boundary Adjustment Committee which will work collaboratively with their eye on the district as a whole, to make recommendations for boundary adjustments.  We will be selecting two parents from each of the elementary and middle schools, and if you are interested in being considered as a candidate, please complete the application provided here and submit to the Sherwood School District Office by September 26, 2014.

More information regarding the committee schedule and activities will be provided during the interview process.

Please note: Any boundary adjustment changes established through this process will not be in effect until the 2015-16 school year.  Continue to visit our web site for the most current information on the boundary adjustment process.
