The Sherwood School District will participate in lock-down drills at all seven school buildings between Tuesday, February 20 and Friday, March 2. This will be the second lock-down drill of the year. This round of drills will be “unannounced” to the students and staff. Recognizing that each school, emergency plan, and student needs differ, it is up to the discretion of the school’s administrators who will know about the drill in advance, as well as how much advance notice will be given regarding date and time. During the lock-down drill, staff and students are secured within their individual classrooms/offices and there is no movement in the building. No one will be allowed to enter or exit the campus until the drill has been completed. The lock-down drills provide valuable feedback for the District’s Emergency Preparedness Committee. Sherwood Police will also be invited to provide feedback during the drills.
